Maintenance Stage - SafeDays™ & GreatDays™

Similar to the Leader’s Maintenance Process - Leaderfocus, SafeDays/GreatDays is the Team's process for maintaining and embedding helpful thinking patterns. SafeDays/GreatDays for teams is a daily process that draws people's attention to the ZIP 5 thinking patterns that drive their behaviours and ultimately produce safe/helpful results in the team on a daily basis. This is how you maximise your return on investment in ZIP and continue to keep it alive in your business.

The SafeDays/GreatDays processes take approximately five minutes at the start of the shift/work day/weekly meeting. SafeDays/GreatDays is a systematic process that works by firstly reviewing the previous shift/work day/week and then planning for the coming shift/work day/week. In terms of safety, our experience teaches us that most Lost Time Incidents (LTIs) have an indicator present in one shift period prior to the incident. In SafeDays/GreatDays, once the previous shift/work day/week is analysed and learned from, a plan for the coming shift/work day/week is set. To maintain the variety and interest in the process, each shift/work day/week has a "Focus Statement" which is a daily/weekly activity or task concentrating on one of the 5 thinking patterns and one of the brain tools. Each shift/work day/week starts with a different Focus Statement.

The SafeDays/GreatDays process is started by specialised Programs known as SafeDays/GreatDays Initiation Programs. These programs are designed to give SafeDays/GreatDays the best start possible. During these programs a ZIP facilitator comes on site/office for a week and goes to a planned number of start-of-shift/work day/weekly meetings to initiate that team's SafeDays/GreatDays. They will preferably work with any trained ZIPCoaches in this process.
